Zebra Crossings Welcomes New Executive Director Emily Mundy

A Seamless Transition at Zebra Crossings

Zebra Crossings, a Dover, NH–based nonprofit that provides empowering experiences for children with chronic medical conditions and their families, is thrilled to announce that Emily Mundy has been selected as its next Executive Director.

Emily will step into the role following the planned retirement of current Executive Director Deb Taylor in July 2025. Having joined Zebra Crossings in 2023 as Program Director, Emily has already played a pivotal role in revitalizing programs after the pandemic, bringing energy, empathy, and creativity to her leadership.

“We’ve been incredibly fortunate to have Deb Taylor lead Zebra Crossings over the past two and a half years,” said Tim Guen, Board Chair. “Her steady hand guided the organization through a critical rebuilding period, helping us regain financial stability and restore our programming after a multi-year pause due to COVID. Equally important, her mentorship of Emily has made this transition both seamless and inspiring.”

Founded in 2009, Zebra Crossings offers overnight camps and community day programs that foster self-confidence, independence, and connection for youth and families navigating complex medical conditions. The organization serves families across the Seacoast and beyond, building a vibrant and supportive community with every event.

Reflecting on her time at Zebra Crossings, Deb Taylor shared, “Working alongside our little-but-mighty team and our dedicated board has been a truly rewarding capstone to my nonprofit career. Zebra Crossings’ mission is close to my heart, and I have full confidence that Emily will carry it forward with compassion and purpose.”

Trained as an attorney, Emily shifted paths after COVID to care for her medically complex son—a journey that led her to Zebra Crossings.

“I resonate deeply with our mission. As a parent, I know how powerful it is for children to find a place where they feel safe, seen, and supported,” Emily said. “It’s been a privilege to help create programs that build confidence and joy for these kids. I’m excited to lead Zebra Crossings into its next chapter.”
