DESCRIPTION:Are you worried about the amount of time someone in your family is spending glued to screens? This solution focused workshop may be for you.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this Event\n\n\nAre you are worried about the amount of time someone in your family is spending glued to screens? Does your child experience anxiety or irritability when ending an online game? Do you constantly check your emails or social media accounts and feel less connected in your relationships? If you can relate to these experiences\, you or your loved ones might be suffering from Technology Addiction. Whether you’re hearing the term technology addiction for the first time or you fully understand the insidious nature of this problem\, this workshop has something to offer you. Oz will give a brief presentation on technology addiction and ways to prevent and alleviate it. The presentation will be followed by an extensive Q&A section. \nThis presentation is offered as a two-week series giving families an opportunity to try out new skills and return for questions and answers around successes and challenges. PLEASE NOTE: You will only see one date listed. Registration for Jan.13th automatically enrolls you in the follow up event on Jan. 20th. \nWhat you can expect:: \n•            A brief presentation of evidence based & age appropriate communication strategies. These will help your family engage in meaningful and productive conversations about technology use. \n•            Assistance in developing your own Technology-Use- Mission- Statement to use as a guide at home. This will help to establish healthy and reasonable expectations around technology use. \n•            Behavioral and technological tools and strategies to minimize the harmful effects of technology. \n•            At least 20 minutes for a productive Q&A session at the close of week one. \n•            A solution based follow up event where Oz will facilitate a live Q & A. Families are encouraged to share successes and challenges with implementing strategies. We will work together to problem solve and leave with even more tools to help tame technology. \nPresented by Ozgur Akbas\, LMFT \nOz is a psychotherapist in Dover\, NH who specializes in the treatment of trauma (EMDR)\, OCD (ERP)\, anxiety\, depression\, and technology and pornography addiction. He has been in the mental health field for over 14 years and offers workshops designed to translate the research findings on Technology Addiction\, Neuropsychology and Mindfulness into principles that can be practically applied by all who seek healing and growth.
